Two of the biggest names in boxing history have signed on for the “Stumble in the Jungle.”

The long-rumored, widely questioned boxing match between retired boxing icons, Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather, is seemingly moving forward, as the fighters have tentatively agreed to meet in an exhibition bout on April 25 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger.

The high-profile showdown will mark boxing’s symbolic return to the African nation — formerly known as Zaire — which staged the legendary “Rumble in the Jungle” clash between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman in 1974.

The bout between Tyson, 59, and Mayweather, 48, was announced last year without a confirmed date or site.

Mayweather last fought in an August 2024 exhibition against John Gotti III that ended in a no-decision, and he later went on to entertain a potential rematch with Manny Pacquiao until negotiations stalled.

Tyson, the former heavyweight champ with unwavering star power — coming off a unanimous-decision loss to Jake Paul in their Netflix-streamed bout in November 2024 — redirected focus toward the bout with Mayweather earlier this week.

“Yeah, it’s happening,” Tyson told TMZ. “S–t yeah, it’s happening! You think I give that up? I was minding my business. [Floyd] challenged me.”

Mayweather, a five-division champ who topped out at 154 pounds, has held several exhibitions — including a decision win over Logan Paul — since his retirement in 2017, when he beat UFC star Conor McGregor by TKO to finish with a perfect 50–0 record.

His unbeaten resume would be protected in the exhibition bout with the former heavyweight freight train, though a weight limit has not been confirmed.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Mayweather said in a statement when the fight was announced. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”

Added Tyson at the time: “This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable—and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.”
