Dave Portnoy takes dig at Aaron Judge after Yankees heroics

Dave Portnoy found a way to take a shot at Aaron Judge despite the Yankees captain’s heroics on Tuesday.

The Yankees’ demise was over-exaggerated by many, including the Barstool Sports founder, who was ready to back up the dump truck and shovel dirt over the Bronx Bombers before a 6-1 comeback led to a Yankees victory to force a Game 4 in the ALDS against the Blue Jays Wednesday night.

“Leave Rondon [sic] in for 1 more batter! Gotta save the bullpen!” Portnoy, referencing Yankees starter Carlos Rodón, posted on X with a video of himself laughing hysterically as he made fun of the Yankees, saying they were going to be swept by the Blue Jays in this best-of-five series.

Well, Portnoy was the boy who cried wolf in this case, and gave the Yankees plenty of bulletin board material for the remainder of the playoffs, as Judge tied the game at six with a three-run bomb in the fourth inning before an eventual 9-6 win.

“Maybe Boone should leave Rodón in for one more batter. Hey, he’s always got tomorrow. You gotta save the bullpen for March,” Portnoy said, prematurely dancing on the Yankees’ grave. “They’re popping champagne from the wild-card. The New York 27 ring champagne for the wild-card. Getting swept like a little child. Embarrassing the whole god damn city. While our team is getting f–king swept like a little child. Embarrassing.”

The Bronx Bombers got a sterling performance from their bullpen after Rodón pitched poorly, only getting six outs and forcing the Yankees to come back.

After Judge hit a game-tying home run, Portnoy still found a way to try to tear him down.

“I don’t care about the Hr,” Portnoy said after Judge went deep to tie the game. “All time corny look back at the camera in the dugout.”

Portnoy also called Judge a “cornball” for his celebration, in which he stared at the camera and had a double-take at it.

The Yankees previously knocked the Red Sox out of the playoffs in the wild-card round, which Portnoy made fun of, saying the division rivals shouldn’t have celebrated the win so much.

The Bronx Bombers have a chance to celebrate again with a win on Wednesday and Friday as they face elimination against the Blue Jays.

Aaron Boone will send out rookie sensation Cam Schlittler to pull out a big win.
