We all know by now the Giants wanted to trade up in the 2024 NFL Draft to get Jayden Daniels.
That didn’t happen, of course, because the Commanders owned the No. 2 spot in the first round, were intent on taking Daniels and certainly not interested in trading the pick so an NFC East rival could claim that prize.
The Giants’ projection for what Daniels might become moved front and center in Week 2, when Daniels played with smarts and poise, completing 23 of 29 passes for 226 yards and no turnovers in a 21-18 victory over the Giants.
A week later, a national television audience got to see what all the fuss is about with Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner from LSU, as he completed an NFL rookie-record 91.3 percent of his passes (21 of 23) and amassed 293 total yards and three touchdowns in a 38-33 victory over the Bengals in Cincinnati.
