A hardcore rock band abruptly split because of their guitarist’s alleged “heinous acts,” which included stealing thousands of dollars for an “unbelievable amount” of OnlyFans subscriptions weeks before performing at Coachella

New Jersey-based Gel announced the sudden breakup to their fans in a lengthy social media post on Wednesday.

“Gel is no longer and band, and therefore will not be playing any of our currently scheduled upcoming shows,” the statement read.

Gel announced they were splitting up because of the actions of guitarist Anthony Webster. Gel – HC Band / Facebook

The band alleged that its former guitarist, Anthony Webster committed “such heinous acts” in his attempt to better his personal music career that caused “irreparable damage” to the band and its other members.

“It’s affected us as human beings more than we can even attempt to explain, to the point of being completely unable to do the band anymore,” the post continued.

The band consisted of Webster, singer Sami Kaiser, bassist Matthew Bobko, guitarist Madison Nave and drummer Alex Salter, according to Masslive.com.

Webster allegedly stole tens of thousands of dollars from the band after he gained sole access to the group’s bank account.

He is accused of using the funds to pay his rent, personal food orders and “whatever else he really wanted.”

“He also spent it on a truly unbelievable number of OnlyFans purchases and mysterious CashApp transactions likely in the same lane,” the band claimed.

Webster is accused of leaking a series of nude photos of other band members to the website Reddit, but was caught when he didn’t cover his tracks.

The band said it couldn’t determine a reason for the purported indecent pics.

Webster was described by his former bandmates as a “little f–king baby” who can’t act like an adult.

“Absolute misery and reconsideration for anyone and everyone around him (well, except for the people who he wanted to impress and would feign being a nice guy to,) the band said.

The group likened their involvement with Webster to being in an abusive relationship as they were following their passion for being apart of the band.

“It’s not so easy to just give something up that you care so much about, especially pressures from outside organizations, people, etc. that are all counting on you in some way. We wish that this could have all been easier, and we wish that it didn’t have to end this way,”

Gel called themselves fighters, saying they battled to the very end until they couldn’t any longer.

“We’d like to send our most sincere and deepest apologies to anyone who this is affecting on a personal level and beyond,” the band said. “We are so sorry that we have to end it this way and we truly hope for the best for all of you.

The band’s split forced several others music groups to change its lineup for their upcoming tour appearances. Gel – HC Band / Facebook

“Thank you so much to the friends we’ve made over the years, and thank you so much to our fans for always being there for us and showing us how much you care. Take care of each other, and love your friends,” the band wrote.

Gel was formed in New Jersey in 2018 as a “side project” for the band Sick S–t.

The band had finished its 2025 Australia tour days before their breakup and were scheduled to perform at several high-end festivals including a set during the Sunday lineup at Coachella, which Post Malone is headlining.

They also planned to go on tour with Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox, alongside Loathe and Dying Wish.

That tour dubbed the Tsunami Sea North American Tour will begin in April to its mostly sold-out shows without Gel.

Gel had several shows planned in July with Anxious stopping in Delaware and the United Kingdom.

A European run was also in the works for the former band where they would open up for Danish band Volbeat.
