The Rangers are giving fans a sense of deja vu.

General manager Chris Drury addressed a letter to Blueshirts faithful Friday — echoing a similar message sent out in 2018 — detailing the franchise’s plans in the midst of what is becoming a lost season.

“With our position int he standings and injuries to key players this season, we must be honest and realistic about our situation,” Drury wrote. “We are not going to stand pat — a shift will give us the ability to be smart and opportunistic as we retool the team. This will not be a rebuild. This will be a retool build around our core players and prospects.

“We will target players that bring tenacity, skill, speed, and a winning pedigree with a focus on obtaining young players, draft picks, and cap space to allow us flexibility move forward.”

The Letter 2.0 signifies a seemingly sell off for the Rangers, with rising free agent Artemi Panarian, veteran Vincent Trocheck and others likely headed to new teams before the season is over.

Losers of their last five, the Rangers are in the Eastern Conference basement at 20-22-6.

They play The Flyers on Saturday in Philadelphia.
