Celtics’ Jaylen Brown has no love lost for rivals: ‘F–k the Knicks’

Jaylen Brown isn’t spreading holiday cheer to division rivals.

The Boston Celtics star sent a profane shot at the rival Knicks during a livestream on his Twitch page earlier this week.

During the stream, a fan left a comment about Boston’s Atlantic Division foe — and the former Finals MVP didn’t need many words to send a clear message.

“F–k the Knicks,” he said with a chuckle. “You feel me?”

The division rivalry came to a head during last season’s Eastern Conference semifinals, when the third-seeded Knicks dispatched the second-seeded Celtics in six games — punctuated by a 119–81 rout in the decisive matchup.

Perhaps there’s a sense of unresolved conflict, given Boston star Jayson Tatum went down with a season-ending Achilles injury in Game 4, with New York leading the series, 2-1.

Seemingly undeterred from falling short in the conference finals against the Indiana Pacers, the Knicks are off to a 21–9 start this season — good for second in the East — and recently took down the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Cup championship.

They’re also fresh off a Christmas Day comeback win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Celtics, meanwhile, have held strong in Tatum’s absence, occupying the third seed in the East with an 18–11 record behind a career-best season from the 29-year-old Brown.

The four-time All-Star is averaging 29.4 points per game, the sixth-highest mark in the NBA, while also adding 6.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists a night.

Brown’s jab at the Knicks marks his second colorful comment made toward a division rival in the last month.

Just last week, he attempted to elaborate on his poorly worded “compliment” for Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes made earlier in December.

The Knicks and Celtics have split the first two of their four regular-season meetings this season, each winning at home, and will meet again on Feb. 8 in Boston then in Manhattan on April 9.

And with how this season is shaping up, Boston could get a chance at redemption in the playoffs.
