For those who have been dreaming of seeing “The Princess Bride” on the big screen with Cary Elwes in attendance, well…

“As you wish.”

From December 2025 through July 2026, the versatile character actor will screen Rob Reiner classic 1987 film, detail behind-the-scenes stories and participate in a moderated Q&A at theatres, music halls, auditoriums and performing arts centers all over North America as part of his ongoing ‘An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes Tour.’

And, while the gifted actor won’t be stopping into New York or New Jersey on this run, he will be at Boston’s Wilbur Theater on Friday, Feb. 20 and Sunday, Feb. 22.

If you’d like to witness the magical tale of a farmhand looking for his beloved, kidnapped princess Buttercup (Robin Wright), tickets are available for all 17 “Princess Bride” showings.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find across the primary and secondary market for any one screening was $39.40 including fees on Ticketmaster for a gig in Denver.

Other shows have tickets starting anywhere from $41 to $395 on either StubHub or Ticketmaster.

“’The Princess Bride’ reveals itself as a sly parody of sword and sorcery movies, a film that somehow manages to exist on two levels at once: While younger viewers will sit spellbound at the thrilling events on the screen, adults, I think, will be laughing a lot,” Roger Ebert wrote in a 3.5-star review of the film upon its October 1987 release.

In regards to the screening experience, fans have been equally ecstatic about seeing the film with Elwes in attendance.

“…each time [Elwes] affectionately referred to a cast member, he embodied them with a voice over that was just too cute,” Nerds That Geek gushed in an impassioned recap of a December 2022 ‘Inconceivable Evening.’

“…not only were his impressions great, but when discussing Andre’s gentle, playful nature, and kind soul, he actually choked up and had to take a minute. Clearly taken aback by it, he apologized stating how surprised he was it overtook him. *WOW* It was touching to say the least.”

Sadly, there will likely be a tribute to Elwes’ late director, Rob Reiner, at upcoming shows as well.

“No words…” he wrote on Instagram after the “Princess Bride” visionary’s untimely passing, next to a black-and-white photo of their two folding chairs on set.

To dig deeper, we have everything you need to know and more about the ‘An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes Tour’ below.

“Stand By Me” on tour

In March 2026, Corey Feldman, Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton will bring their beloved 1986 Rob Reiner film to audiences all over the U.S.

“That’s right we [are] getting the boys back together,” Feldman, 54, announced on Instagram back in August.

Tickets for all five scheduled “Stand By Me” shows can be found here.

Cary Elwes upcoming projects

The always busy thespian has three projects in the works. Courtesy of IMDb, here’s what we know about each of them.

“M.I.A.” is a TV series about Etta Tiger Jonze seeks to avenge her family’s murder and become the most powerful crime queenpin in South Florida. Wynn Everett, Tracey Reynolds and Dawn Noel star.

“Mary Pickford: Love Wild” features Elwes as D.W. Griffith in the unconventional biopic chronicling “the spirit of Mary’s love of storytelling, as the first pop star, female producer, and surrealist artist in N.America, truly merging art and commerce.” Sophie Kennedy Clark leads the way as Pickford.

‘The American Spring” tells the story of a governor’s presidential bid that falters. Things change when his friend, a controversial political scientist, propels their radical platform into the spotlight, sparking national debate and unleashing political chaos. Christina Hendricks and Mena Massoud have also been tapped to round out the cast.

Rob Reiner

As noted above, Reiner and his wife Michelle died at their home on Dec. 14 in what is being called an apparent homicide.

A native New Yorker, Reiner was the son of 11-time Emmy winning writer, director and actor Carl Reiner. His mother Estelle acted and is most known for appearing in her son’s film “When Harry Met Sally” and uttering the now-immortal line “I’ll have what she’s having!” in response to Meg Ryan’s enthusiastic reaction to a turkey sandwich on club bread.

In addition to directing “The Princess Bride” and “Stand By Me” Reiner also helmed “This Is Spinal Tap,” “When Harry Met Sally,” “Misery,” “A Few Good Men” and portrayed Archie Bunker’s foil Michael “Meathead” Stivic in “All In The Family.”

His obituary can be read here.

Other unique tours in 2025-26

Elwes isn’t the only star from the silver screen hitting the stage this year and next.

Here are just five of our favorite actors staging tours in the very near future.

• Bill Murray

• Steve Martin with Martin Short

• John Cusack

• Mandy Patinkin

• Weird Al

Plus, Corey Feldman and Kerri Green are bringing “The Goonies” to fans all over North America in 2026 if you’d like to catch that ’80s staple at a performing arts center with fellow fans.
