No more street clothes for Shedeur Sanders.

The rookie quarterback will return to his backup role behind starter Dillon Gabriel on Sunday against the Jets after being inactive due to a back injury during the Browns’ loss to the Patriots in Week 8, coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Friday.

After the Browns traded Joe Flacco in early October, Sanders was made the No. 2 signal caller on the depth chart.

Sanders still remains ahead of veteran Bailey Zappe, who was active when the fifth-round, No.144 overall pick was out in Week 8.

Cleveland is now returning from its bye week and hopes to get back into the win column.

The son of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has yet to make his regular-season NFL debut, despite getting some time during the preseason.

He threw 138 yards for two touchdowns in his preseason debut for a 30-10 Browns win over the Panthers on Aug. 8.

The Browns have gone 1-3 with Gabriel under center and have failed to score at least 20 points in three out of his four starts.

Cleveland (2-6) sits in last in the AFC North with little hope for a playoff spot.

Cleveland has also listed wide receiver Cedric Tillman as active for Sunday after missing four games with a hamstring injury.

Tight end Harold Fannin Jr., rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger and offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas are all questionable.
