A British tourist died today after being ‘pulled from the water’ at a holiday hotspot in Cyprus.
The 62-year-old man had been swimming at a beach in Peyia, in the west of the island, when the tragedy occured.
He disappeared from sight before being brought to shore where emergency crews performed CPR on him, unfortunately to no avail, SigmaLive reported.
The man was then rushed to Paphos General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A mandatory autopsy is yet to establish the exact cause of death.

It is unclear whether the man was alone and which beach exactly he was swimming at when the events unfolded.
Peyia is a town in the Paphos District of Cyprus and is popular as a tourist destination, particularly for Brits.
Only last month an 87-year-old died while swimming in nearby Coral Bay in Peyia – which has a coastline with especially rocky headlands and large sea caves.
The man was found floating unconscious after heading out in the water at around 1.30pm and as holidaymakers pulled him from the water and called an ambulance.
