As Giants introduced their new head coach on Tuesday, their last full-time coach talked to one of their biggest rivals.

Former Big Blue coach Brian Daboll interviewed with the Eagles for their open offensive coordinator position, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. The outlet added that Daboll is a “top target” for “team brass.”

The Athletic reported last week that Daboll and Mike McDaniel were expected to be at the top of the list of candidates for the vacancy. Nevertheless, McDaniel is now expected to take the Chargers’ OC position after taking his name out of the running for the Browns’ head coaching job, ESPN reported Tuesday night.

Daboll conducted an in-person interview with the Titans before they filled their head coaching vacancy with ex-Jets coach Robert Saleh.

Before his stint with the Giants, Daboll was an offensive coordinator over eight different seasons with the Browns (2009-10), Dolphins (2011), Chiefs (2012) and Bills (2018-21).

He went 20-40-1 before he was fired 10 games into the 2025 season.

His greatest statistical success came during his final two seasons in Buffalo when he helped lead a top-10 offense in scoring and yards as Josh Allen developed into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

The Eagles, one year removed from their Super Bowl domination over the Chiefs, lost in the wild-card round of the playoffs in a year where their offense sputtered and couldn’t find any consistency.

The team stripped Kevin Patullo of his offensive coordinator duties after just one season at the helm.

“I have decided to make a change at offensive coordinator,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said in a statement on Jan. 13. “I met with Kevin today to discuss the difficult decision, as he is a great coach who has my utmost respect. He has been integral to this team’s success over the last five years, not only to the on-field product but behind the scenes as a valued leader for our players and organization. I have no doubt he will continue to have a successful coaching career.

“Ultimately, when we fall short of our goals that responsibility lies on my shoulders.”

Philly ranked 19th in total offense and 23rd in the passing game this past season.
