Blue Jays troll Yankees in every way possible after ALDS domination

The Blue Jays were “spreading the news” after they defeated the Yankees in Game 4 of the American League Division Series, trolling the Bombers during their postgame celebration by blasting a portion of “(Theme From) New York, New York” in the overjoyed clubhouse.

Toronto emphatically celebrated the series-clinching win inside the visiting clubhouse at Yankee Stadium, referencing the Frank Sinatra hit more than once, starting with Blue Jays manager John Schneider in a postgame speech.

“Start spreading the news bitches, we’re going to the ALCS!” he shouted before the champagne popped and the Blue Jays started blaring the iconic song inside the clubhouse.

The song played briefly as the players doused one another with champagne before the music quickly transitioned to a song by rapper Pop Smoke.

But that did not end the musical trolling.

Pop Smoke’s song “Hello” includes a line in the song, “I’m the King of New York.”

At one point, Sportsnet in Canada captured Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singing that line during the champagne celebration, and considering the way Guerrero played in the series, it would be hard to argue he didn’t deserve a crown.

Guerrero had a .529 batting average with nine hits, three home runs and nine RBIs along with a 1.609 OPS.

Even the Jays’ social media team got in on some of the trolling.

In a social media post just after the win, they wrote as part of it, “Hit that Sinatra.”

The Blue Jays will have to wait to see who they’ll be facing in the American League Championship Series with the Tigers-Mariners series tied 2-2.

The trip to the ALCS will be Toronto’s first since it made consecutive appearances in 2015 and 2016, both of which they lost.
