Anthony Weaver is a popular name during this NFL coaching cycle.

The Dolphins defensive coordinator interviewed for the Bills’ head coach vacancy on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Peter Schrager, adding to the long list of names Buffalo is looking at.

Weaver will stay busy through the weekend when he sits down with Cardinals brass for a second interview, per NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

The former second-round pick out of Notre Dame was also a finalist for the Steelers’ head coaching job, though it now appears Pittsburgh plans to hire Mike McCarthy.

He had previously conducted interviews with the Falcons and Ravens before those teams filled their openings by hiring Kevin Stefanski and Jesse Minter, repectively

Weaver isn’t expected to stay in Miami after the team fired Mike McDaniel and hired former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley for their head coaching job.

If Weaver doesn’t land a head coaching gig during this cycle, his name has been floated as a possible candidate for the Giants’ defensive coordinator job under Harbaugh.

Weaver has been an NFL assistant at various stops since 2012 and was Harbaugh’s assistant head coach during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

The Dolphins’ defense struggled under Weaver last season, allowing the ninth-most points and 11th-most total yards while ranking 24th in defensive DVOA.

They were much better in 2024, allowing the 10th-fewest points and fourth-fewest total yards to rank 19th in defensive DVOA.

He also spent the 2020 season as the DC for the 4-12 Texans before taking the run game coordinator/defensive line coach job in Baltimore under Harbaugh.

Weaver spent seven seasons in the NFL as a defensive end for the Texans and Ravens, registering 265 tackles and 15.5 sacks with five forced fumbles and three interceptions.
