Alec Baldwin puts the boss babies first.
And since his priories are his wife Hilaria, 41, and their seven kids, the star has debated stepping back from his career.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, are parents to Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, Maria, 4, and Ilaria, 2. During the March 16 episode of “The Baldwins,” the actor admits he has no plans to head back to work.
“It’s interesting to see men who look at me like they think I’m like them,” Baldwin, 66, said on his TLC reality show, per People. “[They say], ‘Well, like, you can only take this parenting thing so far. They’re like, ‘Well, you’re going to get back to work, right? We’re men, we have to work?’”
The “Married to the Mob” alum revealed that when people inquire if he has any projects in the works, “the answer isn’t a movie or a TV show or a play, although there’s nothing wrong with that.”
“What I’m doing is this,” Baldwin shared as scenes of him laughing with his kids aired. “This is what I’m doing, is raising my kids.”
Baldwin added: “Maybe I’ll just step aside and forget about acting and career.”
The “30 Rock” alum explained that while he has many friends in the entertainment industry who are “very successful,” their one regret is not spending as much time with their kids at a young age.
“They strike while the iron is hot,” said Baldwin. “There was a 20-year period from when there were 30 to 50 where they did nothing but work all day, every day.”
Once they reached retirement and could take a step back, their kids were “out the door” and off to college.
He noted that is “time that they can’t get back.”
“I don’t want to have that regret,” confessed Baldwin, who is also dad to daughter Ireland, 29, with ex-wife Kim Basinger. “This is the one benefit of having kids later in life.”
“The Baldwins” has only aired three episodes thus far.
“The kids have fun, the kids are happy. It’s not like we’re staging anything or faking,” he told People.
He added that they “have friends and go to play dates and this and that, but they would rather stay home with each other.”
“They’re like a pack,” Baldwin continued. “They’re very close and they want to just be with each other, so this representation is pretty authentic about how we live our lives.”
The actor also teased that his children “want more money” before they sign on for another installment of the TLC show.
According to the family patriarch, his little ones are “already renegotiating their contract, they want more money, they want a lot more money, so we’ll see what happens.”
