This was on March 27, after a hard-fought, Sweet 16 loss to Duke inside Capital One Arena. The three friends weren’t ready to say goodbye to what had been a memorable season. They were hurting and it showed. They didn’t get their fairy-tale moment then.
As it turns out, they just had to wait a few more months.
It wasn’t a Final Four or a national championship, but the St. John’s frontcourt got to live out their dreams separately over two nights of the NBA draft, and in the process make more Red Storm history.
