Trevor Bauer’s stint in the US has come to an end.

The Long Island Ducks announced the pitcher signed with Diablos Rojos del México of the Mexican League.

In the statement, Bauer thanked the organization for the opportunity to play in Central Islip.

“I want to thank the Long Island Ducks organization for giving me the opportunity to be part of the team,” Bau. “I’d also like to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, the clubhouse staff, and everyone behind the scenes who made my time here so enjoyable. From day one, everyone welcomed me and treated me incredibly well, and I’m grateful for the relationships and friendships I’ll take with me.

Team president Michael Pfaff also commented on Bauer’s move away from the Long Island Ducks

“Trevor exceeded every expectation during his time with the Ducks,” Pfaff said. “From his dominance on the mound to his commitment to fans and support of our organization, he made a tremendous impact both on and off the field. While we had hoped to see him return to Major League Baseball from Long Island, we are excited for this next opportunity and wish him continued success in Mexico.”

The Ducks signed Bauer in early April, marking the first time the pitcher would play for an organization in the US since his suspension from MLB in 2022 for violating the league’s domestic violence policy.

He was accused of punching and choking a woman into unconsciousness during two sexual encounters, though he was never criminally charged.

After his suspension, Bauer had stints with the Japanese league’s Yokohama DeNA BayStars in 2023 and 2025.  He also played a season in the Mexican league with the Diablos in 2024.

Bauer went 5-1 with the Ducks with a 2.36 ERA and 66 strikeouts. While in Long Island, Bauer set the franchise strikeout record with 15 in an outing against the Gastonia

Back in Mexico, Bauer will continue trying to earn a spot back in the MLB. If the pitcher returns to the league, he will not be suspended for additional time.
