The house didn’t win this one…
One mystery gambler hit the jackpot in Las Vegas — turning just $5 into more than $10 million on a slot machine.
The unidentified winner, described only as an Atlanta visitor, hit the eye-popping Megabucks jackpot Tuesday morning at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino while playing the Megabucks Wolf Run Eclipse machine, the casino said.
“TEN. MILLION. DOLLARS. That’s not a typo.” Westgate Las Vegas wrote on X.
The lucky winner had reportedly been playing the machine for just three minutes when the $5 wager triggered the massive jackpot, according to local blog VitalVegas.
The Vegas blog gleefully dubbed the newly minted millionaire “some lucky bastard” — noting that jealously is basically part of the celebration.
Westgate put the monster prize at $10,292,912.32 — enough to make the new multimillionaire’s Sin City trip one they’ll never forget.
“Congratulations to our newest multimillionaire,” the casino wrote. “Around here, winners aren’t just celebrated… they’re made.”
Vital Vegas noted that Megabucks machines reset to $10 million after a jackpot is hit — meaning the dream starts all over again for the next hopeful gambler.
The blog also pointed out the less-glamorous reality of giant slot wins: winners usually have to choose between an annuity paid out over decades or a smaller lump sum that gets whacked with federal taxes.
Still, even after Uncle Sam takes his cut, the anonymous winer it walking away with the king of Vegas payday most gamblers only fantasize about.
As for whether the winner tipped anyone after the life-changing spin?
VitalVegas said it didn’t have the scoop — but joked the over/under was “zero.”
