Fernando Mendoza reveals how much he studies Tom Brady

Fernando Mendoza might be in the best situation ever.

Mendoza revealed to Front Office Sports that his relationship with Tom Brady is actively growing.

“Our relationships growing, asking him more questions, and he’s been able to give firsthand a lot of advice that has happened in his career,” Mendoza said. “And also advice when he’s come out to OTAs, seeing the way I play, that firsthand advice as well.”

The Raiders are in dire need of a franchise quarterback, as they’ve been in a quarterback carousel since 2000.

Brady, who is considered the greatest football player of all time, is now seeing a different side of football, and that is serving as a minority owner of the Raiders.

He’s been involved in helping bring back the Raiderrs to their glory days.

This offseason, the Raiders had the number 1 pick in the NFL Draft and selected Mendoza, who is the reigning Heisman trophy winner and National Champion after leading Indiana to the first title in school history.

Mendoza, who is considered one of the smartest young quarterbacks in football, on the football field and in the classroom [4.86 College GPA] said that when he learns, he tries to do two types. Active and passive learning.

Mendoza said that part of his passive learning he does with Brady and the Raiders includes a detailed reading of Brady’s newsletter that he writes.

“I try to read one every single night, part of my nightly reading, that’s like my book for now,” Mendoza said. “If I ever get any questions about those, maybe we’ll talk to Alex Guerrero, who’s the Raiders director of performance, who’s been a fantastic resource as well. Him or Tom about the as far as it goes, the mindset, or even if it’s a football-specific question.”

Mendoza went on to talk about how, when he was in the quarterback room late at night with Kirk Cousins, Jacob Clark, and newly acquired center Tyler Linderbaum, they had a specific question about a concept.

Mendoza went on to say that Cousins sent Brady a voice memo real quick, and he gave them a great answer that they took a lot from.
