As the Chargers prepare to close out their offseason program, they are doing so with first-round pick Akheem Mesidor now under contract.
Mesidor and the club are in agreement on a deal that guarantees him $20,456,392 over the next four years. The Chargers will also have a fifth-year option on Mesidor.
The former Miami Hurricanes star was selected by the Chargers with the 22nd overall pick in the NFL draft and is expected to contribute immediately as a pass rusher.
A second-team All-American in 2025, Mesidor spent six years in college while playing at West Virginia for two years and at Miami for four. He finished his college career with 208 tackles, including 52.5 career tackles for loss and 35.5 sacks.

He capped it all off in Miami’s run to the National Championship game with an ACC-leading 12.5 sacks, 17.5 tackles for loss and four forced fumbles.
The Chargers will conclude their OTAs next week before wrapping up their offseason with a mandatory minicamp from June 16-18.
