Sports reporter Kasey Hudson said New England Sports Network (NESN) did not renew her contract in a social media post Tuesday.

Hudson, who joined the network in January 2025, explained that “the next steps are admittedly a little scary” as there is inevitable uncertainty ahead.

“Some personal news. Unfortunately, I recently learned that NESN will not be renewing my contract. While this isn’t the outcome I had hoped for, I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and begin building relationships within one of the most passionate and respected sports markets in the world,” Hudson shared on both Instagram and X, including a snapshot of her covering a hockey game for NESN.

“The next steps are admittedly a little scary. This industry can be unpredictable, and there’s always uncertainty when one chapter comes to an end but I remain hopeful and excited for what’s ahead.”

Hudson, who completed her first full season covering the Boston Bruins last month, thanked Boston fans and those that she worked with in the sports industry.

“To the fans: Thank you!! Your unwavering passion for your teams are unlike anything else. I only wish I had more time to continue earning your trust and becoming a larger part of this incredible community,” she wrote.

“To everyone I had the privilege of meeting and working alongside, thank you for your guidance, support, friendship, and belief in me. The people behind the scenes are what make this industry so special, and I’m grateful for every conversation, lesson, and opportunity that came my way.

“I’m proud of the work accomplished, and I’m looking forward to whatever comes next. Boston will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything.”

Hudson was general assignment reporter for NESN, covering the Bruins, Red Sox, among other sports around Boston.

She also works as a NHL analytical storyteller for CBS Sports.

Hudson spent eight years at the Florida National News covering the Tampa Bay Lightning from 2016-24.

She previously served as a host and sports betting analyst for SportsGrid, covering the NHL and NFL.
