For the first time in three years, a women’s match will headline the night session at the French Open.

The fourth round of Roland Garros wraps up tonight, June 1, with a Round of 16 matchup between No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and No. 16 Naomi Osaka.

With the men’s draw lacking many of the household names associated with tennis, this matchup of women’s tennis heavyweights just the fifth time that a WTA match will be featured in this primetime slot since its introduction in 2021.

It marks Osaka’s first time reaching the Round of 16 at the French Open; Sabalenka, a French Open finalist last year, is seeking her first title at Roland Garros.

Head to head, Sabalenka holds the edge with two wins in three matches. Both of the Belarusian’s wins came in 2026.
