Jets coach Aaron Glenn downplayed the team’s recent visit with veteran quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson visited the Jets nearly two weeks ago, and he said the team offered him a contract, but nothing has materialized.

Wilson is also flirting with the idea of going to TV as an analyst.

The Jets could use a veteran backup to Geno Smith, but Glenn said they are not desperate to add anyone.

“We’re always going to go through a process on how we can improve the team and sometimes when you do that, I think it becomes a bigger issue than what it really is,” Glenn said. “We’re talking to a number of veteran quarterbacks, but I will say this here in saying that: I’m happy with our quarterback room.”

There have been many comparisons between Glenn as a player and new cornerback D’Angelo Ponds, the team’s second-round pick.

Ponds is 5-foot-8.

Glenn was listed at 5-9.

They both had to overcome doubts about their size to make it to the NFL.

Glenn was asked what his thoughts on those comparisons are.

“I think I would describe myself as someone that really wanted to be the best there is in what they do,” Glenn said at the team’s rookie minicamp. “And that’s just not playing the corner position, but being able to play corner and nickel, and at some point in my career I actually transitioned to play a little bit of safety, but more or less, it’s how do you lead the team from an action standpoint and from a verbal standpoint? And he has all those attributes. Listen, I’m not throwing all that on him right now, but man, you clearly see those are some of the things that he has. It’s innate, it’s a part of who he is.

“Listen, it makes me proud that when people see him and they say, I mean, I wish people looked at me and said I played like him because, heck, he’s a damn good player. We are going to take it slow with him, allow him to really learn outside and inside, and, man, I’m glad we have him.”

Ponds said he sought out film of Glenn’s playing days after the draft.

“He does play similar to me,” Ponds said. “We do have some similar traits, obviously. He was a great player when he played.”

The Jets are signing their draft picks quickly this year.

They signed four of them Friday after signing three Thursday.

David Bailey (four years, $54.7 million), Omar Cooper Jr. (four years, $17.5 million), Ponds (four years, $9.8 million), Anez Cooper (four years, $4.5 million) and VJ Payne (four years, $4.4 million) all signed Friday.

Only fourth-round pick Darrell Jackson Jr. is unsigned.

The Jets announced the following undrafted free agent signings: CB Mory Bamba, LB Kendrick Blackshire, TE Chase Curtis, K Will Ferrin, LS Garrison Grimes, OL Xavier Hill, WR Caullin Lacy, WR Malik McClain, WR DT Sheffield and RB Sam Scott.
