The Liberty gathered in a circle near the center of the team’s practice court Thursday afternoon and turned to their leader, Breanna Stewart, who had a parting message before players went their separate ways.
Stewart reiterated she didn’t like how last season went. She presented Friday’s season opener against the Connecticut Sun as a redemption opportunity for the Liberty after falling short last fall.
Stewart’s message was about staying united and building together. Taking each day as a chance to improve.
Her words resonated with the group.
