Amid major developments in the case, a new documentary series about the Gilgo Beach murders is making its way to Prime Video.

“Killing Grounds: The Gilgo Beach Murders” is a four-part documentary series that premieres today, April 22, just two weeks after suspect Rex Heuermann pleaded guilty to eight counts of murder for deaths dating back to 1993.

The Massapequa Park, New York native admitted to killing Amber Lynn Costello, 27; Megan Waterman, 22; Melissa Barthelemy, 24; and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, who were famously known as the “Gilgo Four” — as well as Valerie Mack, 24; Jessica Taylor, 20; and Sandra Costilla, 28, his first victim in 1993; and Karen Vergata, 34, whose 1996 murder had not previously been linked to him.

“He will serve three consecutive life sentences with no chance of parole,” prosecutors said. He will be sentenced on June 17.
