The eyes of the nation were fixed on the skies above New Jersey last fall amid a rash of reports of mysterious lights hovering over neighborhoods, highways and the shoreline.

The strange sightings went on for weeks, sparking widespread panic online as investigations into the phenomenon raised more questions than answers.

Theories swirled, from amateur drone pilots playing a coordinated prank to loose nukes, but no one seemed to know for sure.

“Conspiracies & Coverups” host and former CIA intelligence officer Andrew Bustamante will delve into the drone enigma with the help of experts and insiders.

In Wednesday’s episode of “Conspiracies & Coverups,” host and former CIA intelligence officer Andrew Bustamante will delve into the enigma as he attempts to sniff out the truth — enlisting experts and insiders, and even putting himself in the crosshairs of a real drone hunt.

Bustamante will follow the breadcrumb trail of evidence as he tests leading explanations, interviews eyewitnesses and tests cutting-edge drone technology before ultimately uncovering the surprising truth behind the unusual lights above the Garden State.

He’ll be joined by special warfare operator Trevor Fortner; Belleville, NJ, Mayor Michael Melham; drone pilot and former Navy SEAL Ken Van Heese; noti.group’s own Shane Galvin, and others as he attempts to pull back the veil of this sky-high mystery.

The latest episode of the series — produced in coordination with Texas Crew Productions and New York Post Entertainment — premieres Wednesday, April 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the Discovery Channel.

If you want to tune in to tonight’s “Conspiracies & Coverups” premiere for free, you can stream it with a DIRECTV free trial. DIRECTV is currently offering five days free and $35 off your first month.
