Conor McAneney, a kicker on the Florida State football team, was arrested on Wednesday after authorities alleged he got “violent” with cops during a spring break incident in Broward County, Fla.

McAneney was confronted by law enforcement just feet away from the famed Elbo Room at 2:30 a.m. following a trespassing incident, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department said in a statement to The California Post, but he allegedly got physical with officers as they attempted to detain him.

A mug shot Conor McAneney took following his arrest on Wednesday shows he had a bloodied lip.

“He became uncooperative and violent,” the FLPD said. “He was arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence and trespassing. McAneney was transported to BHMC as a precaution prior to being booked in the BSO Main Jail.

“McAneney is visiting Fort Lauderdale on Spring Break.”

The FSU player allegedly got physical with officers as they attempted to detain him. He is pictured in a snap from social media.
Conor McAneney, who will turn 21 years old next month, just transferred to Florida State this year.

McAneney, who turns 21 years old next month, posed for a mug shot while in police custody, and a swollen, bloody lip was visible. He also seemed to have scratches and bruises on his face.

Court records show McAneney is facing two felonies, one count of battery on an officer and one count of resisting an officer, as well as one misdemeanor charge of trespassing.

Jail records show the Seminoles player is still behind bars as of early Thursday afternoon, being held on $2,750 bond.

McAneney, an Irish national, enrolled at Florida State this year after a stint at Quincy University in Illinois. The 6-foot-3 athlete, rated as a three-star transfer prospect, was 7-for-10 on field goal attempts last season with a long of 45 yards.
