It’s time for the 19th running of the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix.

Following his P1 finish in Saturday’s qualifying, Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli broke the record for youngest polesitter in F1 history at 19 years and 202 days old. The record was previously held by Sebastian Vettel (21 years, 73 days), who broke it in September 2008 at Monza.

Mercedes’ dominance was a theme throughout the weekend so far. George Russell, who finished last week’s opening race in first, finished P1 in Free Practice 1 on Friday, then converted a sprint race pole into a first place finish in yesterday’s 19-lap sprint, the first on this years F1 calendar.

Chinese grand prix: what to know

  • When: March 7, 11 p.m. ET
  • Where: Shanghai International Circuit (Shanghai, China)

The Chinese Grand Prix is a 56 lap, 190 mile race on a course that is 3.3 miles long with 16 turns.

The 2026 Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled to begin in the early hours of March 15 in the USA, at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT.
