The Giants aren’t letting their entire 2022 draft class follow Brian Daboll.

Micah McFadden, who suffered a season-ending Lisfranc foot injury in Week 1 last season, is re-signing with the Giants on a one-year contract, a source told noti.group’s Paul Schwartz. It is expected to be prove-it contract above the league minimum and Veteran Salary Benefit.

McFadden made 28 starts in 30 games from 2023-24 and established himself as a physical and reliable run defender with back-to-back 100-tackle seasons.

McFadden’s three-year partner in the middle of the field – Bobby Okereke – was released before free agency started.

The Giants replaced Okereke with Tremaine Edmunds on a three-year, $36 million contract. Edmunds was a salary-cap casualty of the Bears.

So, do the two moves take Ohio State’s Sonny Styles out of the equation with the No. 5 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft?

That would be foolish given that there is there is no way to know if McFadden will return to his top form – which is nowhere near Styles’ ceiling – after injury.
