Disgraced ex-University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore shockingly agreed on a plea deal, avoiding trial and testimony from a woman who says he barged into her home with a knife after their affair was exposed.
Moore pleaded no-contest to malicious use of a telecommunications device and one count of trespass, according to the Detroit Free Press, citing First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kati Rezmierski.
The plea comes after Moore was slapped with a slew of charges in December, after the married father of three stormed into the Ann Arbor apartment of his lover and ex-assistant, Paige Shriver, and threatened to kill himself.
The ousted football coach spoke briefly during the short hearing on Friday as Judge Simpson asked if he understood the charges and nature of a no contest plea — also noting that the court treats a “no contest” plea as it would a “guilty” plea, the outlet reported.
Moore’s previous charges, including third-degree felony home invasion, have been dismissed, the outlet reported.
