Chloe Kim is the favorite to win the gold medal in the Women’s Snowboard Halfpipe at the Winter Olympics.

Prediction market Kalshi puts Kim’s chances to win the event at 66 percent, which would translate to roughly -195 odds in traditional sports-betting nomenclature.

The 25-year-old put any fears about her recent injury to bed with a solid run Wednesday, setting up an exciting showdown in the final Thursday afternoon.

Kim, the two-time defending champion in this event, has been the face of the sport since becoming the youngest woman to win an Olympic snowboarding gold medal at PyeongChang in 2018.

The Californian was 17 at the time.

That sets up a dramatic twist, as Kim’s No. 1 rival, Gaon Choi, is the same age that Kim was when she topped the podium at PyeongChang.

Kalshi pegs Choi’s probability at 23 percent, well ahead of the third-favorite, Sara Shimizu of Japan (7 percent).

Choi, who has said on numerous occasions that Kim is her idol, burst onto the scene when she broke one of Kim’s snowboarding records by becoming the youngest woman (14 years, two months) to win the snowboard halfpipe gold medal at the X Games.

No South Korean has ever won a gold medal in snowboarding, and Choi is aiming to become the first Korean female athlete to win a medal in snow sports.
