It was finally extinguished.

After four weeks at No. 1, “Avatar: Fire and Ash” was dethroned at last — with “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple” jumping into first place on its opening day.

On Friday, the post-apocalyptic horror, which The Post called, a “twisted, more brutal and freakishly funny continuation” of its predecessor, last year’s “28 Years Later,” raked in $5.5 million, according to The Numbers.

The fourth installment of the “28 Days Later” franchise has Ralph Fiennes reprising his role as Dr. Ian Kelson, and The Post praised the actor for delivering the “craziest performance of the year.”

In second place was the third installment of the Avatar franchise, with sales of $3.2 million on its fifth Friday in theaters.

“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” which was rereleased in theaters for its 25th anniversary, along with the other two films in the trilogy, took third, with over $3.16 in revenue.

The fantasy adventure flicks earned over $5 million in ticket pre-sales alone ahead of Friday’s triple rerelease.

In the fourth spot was Disney’s “Zootopia 2,” with a $1.9 million take on its eighth Friday in theaters.

“Marty Supreme,” which earned its star Timothée Chalamet a Golden Golden last Sunday, landed in fifth, with over $1.6 in earnings.
