The betting market rarely remains overwhelmingly vulnerable.

Oddsmakers often adjust the odds to avoid the betting public exploiting certain angles, especially when a bad team fails to cover the point spread for a lengthy period of time.

However, the Sacramento Kings might be an outlier.

They have the NBA’s third-worst record at 8-29 and also a league-worst 14-22-1 mark against the spread (ATS). That is incredibly rare. Usually, oddsmakers find a way to prevent bettors from bullying the worst team,s but Sacramento has been that bad. For example, the Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans have worse records overall but are a combined 38-37-1 ATS.

Domantas Sabonis is their best player and has not played in nearly two months due to a knee injury. That means their offense runs through a mediocre DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, with Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schröder playing meaningful minutes. That is hardly a recipe for success in today’s NBA.

The Kings rank dead last in offensive efficiency and fourth worst in defensive efficiency.

Sacramento visits the Golden State Warriors on Friday as 13.5-point underdogs with a total of 229.5 points.

If this game were played on paper, the Warriors would win convincingly. Their offense and defense are both far superior statistically, especially when Stephen Curry suits up.

The Kings are also poorly coached with Doug Christie. On Tuesday, trailing by two points in their last possession against the Dallas Mavericks, the team ran the wrong play, according to Christie. That was their sixth straight loss, but they did cover the point spread for the first time during this skid.

Betting on the NBA?

The NBA is as unpredictable as any sport, making it the most difficult on which to wager. The games are not played on paper or on a computer screen. However, I still see multiple paths for the Warriors to cover.

I have an 87-76-2 ATS record in this Post sports section, and my next play is the Warriors -13.5 against the Kings (-110, FanDuel Sportsbook).
