Former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore’s wife, Kelli Moore, told an emergency dispatcher she was “worried my husband is going to hurt himself” after the news of his firing on Dec. 10 for engaging in an “inappropriate” relationship with a staff member, as heard in a 911 audio call obtained by TMZ.
“I’m worried that my husband is going to hurt himself. Can you guys track his phone?” a frantic Kelli said as the couple’s baby daughter was heard in background.
When asked why, Kelli replied, “Because he said that to me … he said he’s trying to kill himself.”
Kelli explained that she wasn’t sure where the coach was at the time, and that he had just been fired.
“He just called me saying he got fired from his job, and he’s in crisis,” she said. “I told him that I love him and that I need him to come home, but I don’t know where he is. He said he was on a highway.”
Kelli added that he was driving a black Chevy Tahoe and that he worked at the University of Michigan.
“I just need to make sure he’s safe,” she said. “He’s called a couple times, and I’m terrified that he’s gonna do something to himself. I told him to come home.
“… He’s very upset. Not at me.”
Michigan fired 39-year-old Moore with cause on Dec. 10 for engaging in an “inappropriate” relationship with his executive assistant Paige Shiver — and he was detained by Pittsfield police later that day for an alleged assault.
Prosecutors said Moore broke into Shiver’s residence, grabbed butter knives and scissors from a kitchen drawer and told her, “I am going to kill myself. I’m going to make you watch. My blood is on your hands. You ruined my life.”
Shiver, 32, ended the relationship with Moore just two days before the incident, prosecutor Kati Rezmierski said at his arraignment on Dec. 12.
Moore was charged with felony home invasion, stalking and breaking and entering.
His bond was set at $25,000, and he is required to wear a GPS monitor and have no contact with the Shiver, per conditions for his release.
Shiver also reported the affair to the athletic department, which led to Moore’s firing.
In dispatch audio obtained by The Post and other outlets, Shiver claimed Moore was “attacking her” and that he had “been stalking her for months.”
He has a scheduled court date on Jan. 22.
Moore is a father to three young girls, with the couple welcoming a baby over the summer.
