The quest for the perfect season heads to Hotlanta next.

On Friday, Jan. 9, Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza’s No. 1-ranked, unbeaten Indiana Hoosiers take on Dante Moore’s No. 5 Oregon Ducks in the Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

This quarterfinal game is especially big for Curt Cignetti’s 14-0 Hoosiers. Although there have been flashes of greatness from the program over the past 50 years, Indiana fans have to go all the way back to 1967 to when the team last finished first in the country.

That year, the squad came up short and lost 14-3 to USC in the Rose Bowl; tailback OJ Simpson was the MVP.

If you’d like to see if Indiana has the juice to return to the Championship for the first time in 58 (!) seasons, last-minute tickets are available.

After doing a bit of digging through the primary and secondary market — sites like Ticketmaster, StubHub and more — we found the cheapest Standing Room Only tickets to get in the door at the Peach Bowl going for $161 including fees on StubHub at the time of publication.

Seats begin at $222.30 including fees on Ticketmaster.

As fans may recall, the two elite clubs met on Oct. 11 at Eugene’s Autzen Stadium. That afternoon, the Hoosiers held the lead for nearly the whole game save for when the Ducks went up 6-3 in the first quarter. When all was said and done, Indiana came out on top 30-20, snapping Oregon’s 18-game home win streak.

“We were fortunate to win the game in Eugene,” Cignetti said during Saturday’s national press conference. “It’s hard to beat a great team twice. Very difficult. We’re looking forward to the challenge.”

Will Dan Lanning and Oregon get revenge for their one loss in 2025? Or will Cignetti’s Indy stay unbeaten on their march toward the first 16-0 season in College Football history?

While we can’t say for certain, we do know the best way to find out is live and in person.

Winner advances to the College Football Championship against whoever comes out on top in the Fiesta Bowl between the No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels and No. 10 Miami Hurricanes.

About the Indiana-Oregon matchup

Dating back to 1963, the Hoosiers and Ducks have faced off just three times. As noted above, Indiana won their 2025 showdown by a score of 30-20.

However, before that, the last time the schools went head-to-head was way back in 1963 and ’64. Oregon won both of those contests.

In regards to this coming bloodbath, the Ducks believe they have made a lot of fixes since their Oct. 11 loss.

“Neither one of us are the same team that you saw when we played each other,” Lanning said. “I think we’ve grown in a lot of different ways, found different strength. As your team changes, you change and adapt to your strengths in your team, and you see the same thing with Indiana.”

College Football News echoes this sentiment.

“The Ducks have more talent than Indiana,” they wrote. “They have more speed, more skill, more guys, and unlike Alabama this year, they have the mojo. They’re playing better than they have all season…Oregon’s defense will come up with the right performance to get to the national championship.”

We can’t wait to see how this showdown shakes out.
