Maybe you settled into your recliner just past 7 o’clock Monday night, clicked on your television, went through your collection of MSG Network properties and saw a hockey game here, a poker tournament there, a boxing show over here. Maybe you asked yourself: “WHERE’S THE KNICKS-PISTONS GAME?!?!”

Maybe you then turned to your trusty New York Post, flipped to the TV sports, slammed down your trusty New York Post, and, simmering, snarled “Peacock!” the way Jerry Seinfeld growled “Newman!” whenever he encountered his nemesis.

Well, I’m here to assure you: You were better off.

You missed the most inexcusable no-show of the season, the Knicks exhibiting no energy and even less effort in meekly white-flagging a grotesque 121-90 loss to the eager and effervescent Pistons. It was an obliteration that brought joyous glee to a hungry crowd of 20,032 at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena and temporary retribution for the Pistons, who dropped all three games in that arena to the Knicks in last year’s playoffs.
