The terms of Kyle Whittingham’s Michigan contract have been revealed.
He signed a five-year deal worth an average of $8.2 million per year, according to ESPN.
The deal is 75 percent guaranteed, per the report.
Michigan hired the former Utah coach on Friday to replace Sherrone Moore, who was fired and later arrested by police earlier this month.
The school found “credible evidence” that Moore had an inappropriate relationship with a staffer.
After he was fired, he was arrested after allegedly breaking into the staffer’s home and threatening to kill himself.
He was subsequently charged with home invasion, stalking and breaking and entering.
Whittingham, 66, was in charge at Utah for 22 years, recording a 177-88 overall record along with an 11-6 record in bowl games.
Michigan will play Texas in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
Biff Poggi has been serving as Michigan’s interim coach since Moore’s firing.
