Don’t put the cart before the horse, Dave.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy had to do a mea culpa after he posted a video to social media exuberantly declaring the Patriots’ dynasty was back as they took a 21-0 lead over the Bills.

The only problem was that the Patriots let that lead slip away, and after going into the half with a 24-7 lead, the Bills scored 28 points in the second half to topple the Patriots, 35-31.

“If I could take back that first celebratory victory when it was 21-0 and I was ranting, raving about how the division is ours and the Bills are done, I would take it back. I would take it back,” Portnoy said. “I was excited in the moment. I hated what the Patriots did at the end of the first half. When they slow-played it, didn’t go for a touchdown, field goal. You know Buffalo is going to get going, but I mean, they kick our f–king ass in the second half. They kicked our ass.”

Portnoy went on to admit that “maybe I was premature declaring [the Patriots] the kings of the AFC.”

He also said that he “looked like a total a–hole” for making the video.

Portnoy, a New England native, is well known for his Boston sports fandom, which includes the Patriots.

In the first video he posted, he declared that the Pats were “destroying” the Bills and exclaimed that “nobody knows championship football more than this guy,” as he pointed at himself.

“I have six rings and you’re telling me Buffalo is better than us?” he said. “This is our division. This is our league and we’re back. We’re not beating this team, we’re demolishing this team.”

The Patriots still hold the division lead at 11-3, while the Bills are 10-4 after the win.
