Matthew Stafford’s wife has found a great place to shake off Sunday’s stunning Week 13 Rams loss — sunny Mexico.
Kelly Stafford shared on Instagram on Thursday that she’s been down in Cabo celebrating the 40th birthday of a friend, Jess Clausen, the spouse of former NFL quarterback Jimmy Clausen.
In a carousel of snaps, Stafford showed herself, Clausen and several gal pals living it up by soaking in boat days, fishing trips, beach meals and tennis matches.
Stafford stunned in a bikini for some of the activities.
“Celebrating you is easy @jessclausen,” Stafford wrote in a caption on the pics. “Happy birthday to one of my best friends, may this be the best decade yet ❤️❤️❤️.”
It’s a stark contrast to this past Sunday, when Stafford was in Charlotte watching her husband’s Rams take on the Panthers.
Not only were temperatures in the 40s with rain, but Los Angeles lost 31-28 after a crucial fourth-quarter Stafford fumble.
To make matters worse for Kelly, she had to launch a search effort to obtain Matthew’s record-breaking football that wideout Davante Adams had accidentally given away earlier in the game.
Matthew, though, has already said he’s moving on from the tough afternoon, telling media members Wednesday that getting over losses “just feels like it comes easy to me.”
“It doesn’t mean that I don’t care about each and every single one of them and do everything I can to try and help us win each and every one of them,” he said. “But I do know that, unless it’s the last game of the year, there’s another one coming, and you better be ready for it.”
It seems like Kelly’s got a similar mindset.
The Rams will travel to State Farm Stadium in Arizona for an NFC West showdown with the Cardinals.
