Jaxson Dart cleared concussion protocol on Thursday, allowing the rookie quarterback to return to the field for the Giants for Monday night’s game against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

Dart missed two games after coming out of the Week 10 loss to the Bears with a concussion. Veteran Jameis Winston started both games in place of Dart, with the Giants losing at home to the Packers (27-20) and on the road to the Lions (34-27 in overtime).

It was a positive sign on Wednesday when Dart was able to participate fully in practice, something he was unable to do last week.

The last step for Dart was to be cleared by an independent neurologist and that happened on Thanksgiving Day.

Dart is 2-5 in his seven NFL starts. He has completed 62.6 percent of his passes for 1,417 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions for a passer rating of 93.5.

Interim head coach Mike Kafka has said when Dart is healthy he would return to the starting lineup.

The Giants did not practice on Thursday. The team projected that NT Dexter Lawrence (elbow), OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux (shoulder) and LB Demetrius Flanagan-Fowles (neck/knee) would not have participated.

The following players were projected as being limited in practice: CB Paulson Adebo (knee), CB Deonte Banks (hip), CB Korie Black (bicep), DL D.J. Davidson (knee), S Tyler Nubin (neck), WR Wan’Dale Robinson (ankle) and WR Darius Slayton (hamstring).
