The Giants are not boring.

They lose all the time, and their defense is where leads go to die. There is a numbing sameness to their failure. But they are often creative and entertaining as they go down.

So it was, again, in Week 12 of another season that cannot come to an end soon enough. They scored first and quickly, and that is nothing new. They were ahead 20-17 at halftime and that was not out of the ordinary. They took that same three-point lead into the fourth quarter and that was headed toward a slippery slope, as the fourth quarter is usually the worst quarter for the Giants.

Then they took a 10-point lead with 12:16 remaining in that fourth quarter, which is their danger zone. Most teams would salivate with the notion of a double-digit lead so late in the game. The Giants try to clear their throats and end up choking on those leads. That they lost 34-27 in overtime inside Ford Field in Detroit was fitting, considering how this season is devolving, but there were also plenty of exciting moments along the way. If a team cannot win, it might as well be intriguing losers.
