The Mets did some cleanup on their 40-man roster Friday, non-tendering a trio of relievers in lefties José Castillo and Danny Young and righty Max Kranick.

They also agreed to a one-year contract with outfielder Tyrone Taylor, reportedly worth $3.8 million, to avoid arbitration.

The lefty Young, who pitched to a 4.50 ERA across 52 games with the Mets, underwent Tommy John surgery in May, while Kranick, who posted a 3.65 ERA across 24 games and 37 innings this year, is coming back from flexor tendon repair surgery that he underwent in the middle of this season.

Castillo was healthy, and the Mets had claimed him back off waivers two weeks ago after he recorded a 2.35 ERA in 16 appearances for them (one of four teams he pitched for this season).

But they decided to free up the roster spot instead of keeping him around.

All other players on the Mets’ 40-man roster are signed for 2026 or have been tendered contracts, the team announced.
