There was a scary scene during Missouri’s 17-10 road loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Early in the third quarter with the game tied at three, Tigers quarterback Beau Pribula suffered a serious leg injury while attempting to convert on a fourth-down attempt, causing him to be carted off the field.

Starting the play just ahead of the goal line, Pribula attempted to rush the ball in the end zone himself before taking a nasty hit from Vanderbilt’s defensive line.

The Commodores’ defense celebrated getting the stop while Pribula lay on the ground after twisting his leg from the hit.

Pribula, who transferred to Missouri from Penn State ahead of this season, was attended to by trainers shortly thereafter, who placed the quarterback in an air cast before loading him on to the cart.

He was later given a wheelchair and returned to Vanderbilt’s sidelines for the remainder of the game.

It remains unclear what exactly Pribula’s injuries are, and if he will miss time for the Tigers going forward, but ESPN sideline reporter Kris Budden said during the broadcast that the graduate student did not appear to show any signs of visual discomfort.

Before exiting with injury, Pribula threw for 68 passing yards while completing 9 out of 14 passes for Missouri.

So far on the season, Pribula has thrown for 1,617 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions, leading Missouri to a 6-2 record.

Tigers freshman Matt Zollers relieved Pribula at quarterback, throwing for 138 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Vanderbilt was ultimately able to capture the lead with just under two minutes left, with quarterback Diego Pavia rushing in for a touchdown which sealed the game for the Commodores.

Pavia, 24, went 10-for-19 in the air and finished Saturday’s game with 129 passing yards and an interception.
