Shae Cornette’s husband had a cryptic response to his wife getting the “First Take” host job.

Jordan Cornette, who has been married to the ESPN personality since 2019, took to social media to congratulate his partner — and seemingly threw shade at people who “never made it easy.”

“They never made it easy for her,” he wrote on X on Thursday. “Beyond wild stuff. And yet she still won. Never played their game. Played hers. True boss behavior. They are lucky. You can’t keep a star down. She is a force of nature and won’t be denied. Beyond proud of my Schway.”

They never made it easy for her.

Beyond wild stuff.

And yet she still won.

Never played their game. Played hers.

True boss behavior.

They are lucky.

You can’t keep a star down.

She is a force of nature and won’t be denied. Beyond proud of my Schway. https://t.co/LNbbgcPwln

Jordan, a former Notre Dame basketball player, is a college basketball analyst at NBC and will be a sideline NBA reporter this upcoming season.

He and Shae have two children together.

Cornette was tabbed to replace Molly Qerim on ESPN’s most popular daytime show, as Front Office Sports reported Thursday, after a month-long tryout period.

“Thank you for all the support… excited for this next chapter!” wrote Cornette, who will make her debut on Nov. 3.

Qerim abruptly quit the show and company in September after 10 years hosting “First Take.”

She credited husband Jordan Cornette for helping to get her shot at the Worldwide Leader. Instagram

“After much reflection, I’ve decided it’s time to close this incredible chapter and step away from First Take,” Qerim wrote on Instagram.

“Hosting this show has been one of the greatest honors of my career. Every morning, I had the privilege of sharing the desk with some of the most brilliant, passionate, and entertaining voices in sports — and with all of you, the best fans in the world.”

Cornette, 39, anchors afternoon editions of “SportsCenter” while also hosting other ESPN shows on TV and radio.

She credits her husband Jordan for her getting a job at the World Wide Leader.

“Jordan is the reason I am at ESPN,” Shae said of Jordan in a February 2024 profile with Westport Magazine. He basically begged ESPN to give me a shot on a radio show with him and then we never looked back.

“He has always believed in me, and I am forever grateful that he is my person.”
