CC Sabathia shoots down Clint Frazier’s Bleacher Creatures idea

If CC Sabathia was tasked with distributing Bleacher Creatures tickets for Game 3 of the ALDS, it doesn’t seem like he’d save one for former Yankees teammate Clint Frazier.

When Frazier shared an X post asking if he should sit with the iconic collection of Yankees fans in the outfield bleachers Tuesday, Sabathia — replying to an Instagram post with Frazier’s question — commented, “F–kin [clown emoji].”

Frazier, an outfielder who spent the first five seasons of his career with the Yankees, has been critical of the organization since signing with the Cubs in free agency four years ago, saying that the Yankees have “too many rocket scientists” influencing decisions with analytics and, in August, that they wouldn’t win the World Series this year because “they do dumbass s–t.”

He also criticized the Yankees’ decision to sit Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Ben Rice in Game 1 of the wild-card series earlier this week.

After inking his deal with the Cubs, Frazier also wrote “so am I” in response to a Twitter post from a user writing that they were glad he wasn’t on the Yankees anymore.

Sabathia, on his podcast at the time, said he’s “gonna punch somebody in the f–king face” if he saw another story on Frazier leaving the Yankees.

“S–t is ridiculous,” Sabathia said at the time. “That kid played 15 games in the f–king big leagues. Get the f–k out of here with all these stupid-ass f–king stories.”

Sabathia, the former Yankees ace and Hall of Famer, overlapped with Frazier during the latter’s cameos in the majors across the final three seasons of his career.

The Yankees will host the Blue Jays at least once next week, with Game 4 following Wednesday if necessary, and they will need to climb out of an early ALDS hole — after losing 10-1 in the opener at Rogers Centre.

Luis Gil didn’t make it out of the third inning and allowed two solo homers, but when the Yankees had a chance to respond in the sixth, with the bases loaded and no outs, they only managed to plate one run.
