The youngest coach to win a Super Bowl isn’t as young as he used to be.

Rams head coach Sean McVay tore the plantar fascia — a thick band of tissue connecting the heel to the front of the foot — during his team’s 33-19 Week 2 victory over the Titans on Sunday.

“Foot’s good,” he revealed on the “Coach McVay Show” on Monday night. “I did tear my plantar fascia, so yeah. Well, that’s a good thing, because I guess it allows you to heal a little faster. But I was being dramatic, limping around towards the end of the game, but the MRI confirmed I did that.

“Good news is I’m not playing,” he added. “I’m just on the sidelines watching, so if I have a little cool limp to add some swag, then you’ll know why.”

McVay, who led the Rams to a championship in 2022, didn’t point to a specific moment that the injury occurred, but he was seen hobbling on the sideline toward the end of the game — a stark contrast to his typical sprint.

A former wide receiver at Miami of Ohio, the 39-year-old has established a reputation for his lively coaching style, one that often finds him running up and down the sidelines, beelining at referees and even joining his team in the end zone for touchdown celebrations.

McVay didn’t say whether he’d need to wear a boot during the recovery process.

The Rams are undefeated through their first two games, but will have their work cut out for them when they visit the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
