Xavier Worthy won’t play in Week 2.

The Chiefs wide receiver was ruled out for Sunday’s Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles after dislocating his right shoulder during Kansas City’s season-opening loss last Friday against the Chargers in Brazil.

Worthy suffered the injury on a brutal collision with star tight end Travis Kelce in the first quarter while both were running crossing routes.

He did return to practice this week, and head coach Andy Reid told reporters that Worthy had a “slim” chance to play against the Eagles, but that will not be the case.

Kelce said he “felt like s–t” after inadvertently taking his teammate out.

“I’ll take the most accountability myself,” Kelce said on his “New Heights” podcast. “I wasn’t ready for that first drive, I ran into one of my guys and offed him out of the game. I literally took one of my players out. That’s one of the most frustrating parts and it’s hard to get your juices back going knowing you just hurt a guy.

“I’m supposed to be running my route at depth for Worthy,” Kelce recalled. “So, it’s frustrating for me. I was kind of trying to set up my guy to be able to get into position, and it all just happened pretty quick.

“I just gotta be better, man. I’m 13 years in the league. There is no excuse [for me] running into my own guys like that.”

The Worthy injury is a major blow for the Chiefs, who are already without star receiver Rashee Rice. He’s serving a six-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy for his role in a 2024 multi-car crash in Texas.

The 28th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft played a major role in Kansas City’s offense during his rookie season, recording 59 catches for 638 yards and six touchdowns — plus three rushing scores — in 17 games.

In a run to a Super Bowl appearance, Worthy scored three more touchdowns, including two against Philadelphia.
