Cutdown day is coming Tuesday for the Giants, which could spell the end of Tommy DeVito’s time playing for his hometown team.

The Giants’ No. 4 quarterback at least put forth a strong performance in the preseason finale Thursday against the Patriots, completing 17 of 20 passes for 198 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

The New Jersey product made eight starts (3-5) over the previous two seasons with the Giants, but the team signed veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in the offseason and spent a first-round draft pick on Jaxson Dart.

“I think you go back the past couple of years, from his rookie year … and then last year playing a couple of games, and even everything he did through this preseason, I think there’s plenty of tape out there that shows he can play in this league,” receiver Wan’Dale Robinson said of DeVito after practice. “He’s just grown since he got here. I remember when he first got here, it was like this dude doesn’t know anything going on with this offense, he’s really quiet.

“But now he’s probably the most experienced one in that quarterback room with knowing the offense. He’s just grown up a lot. I’m excited for Tommy with all the opportunities he gets and I hope everything works out for him.”

The Giants released veteran safety K’Von Wallace and placed cornerback T.J. Moore on injured reserve.

Moore was at the team facility Sunday after undergoing surgery on his fractured leg.

“He was just here a little while ago. Good spirits, but tough injury for him,” Giants coach Brian Daboll said before practice.

Tight end Theo Johnson and offensive lineman Josh Ezeudu were among those who did not practice Sunday.

Tight end Jermaine Terry and safety Raheem Layne worked on the side with trainers.
