The Yankees didn’t open their crucial series with the Red Sox in the most crisp manner.

Three errors by the Yanks’ in the second inning led to Boston’s first run without registering a hit Thursday night at the Stadium.

Yanks starter Luis Gil misplayed a comebacker for the first miscue, allowing leadoff batter Masataka Yoshida to reach safely.

The next batter, Ceddanne Rafaela, also hit one back to Gil, who turned and threw to second for the force play, but Jazz Chisholm Jr. threw wildly to first to allow Rafaela to advance to second for the second error of the inning.

Rafaela promptly stole third, and Gil walked David Hamilton, who also attempted a steal of second.

Yanks catcher Ben Rice’s throw sailed into center field to allow Rafaela to trot home with the game’s first run, but Rice atoned with a solo home run to tie the score in the bottom half.
