The 49ers are adding to their wide receiver room.

San Francisco acquired pass-catcher Skyy Moore and a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Chiefs in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick, according to multiple reports.

The trade comes as the franchise is dealing with a bit of a mess at the position, with Week 1 just over two weeks away.

Former second-team All-Pro Brandon Aiyuk is expected to miss the first month or two of the season after suffering a season-ending injury late last year.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings has been sidelined since early training camp with a calf injury, although the veteran is also reportedly unhappy with his contract situation.

On Wednesday, 49ers’ offseason addition Demarcus Robinson was suspended for the first three games of the season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, head coach Kyle Shanahan announced.

A little lower down the WR depth chart, Jordan Watkins and Jacob Cowing are also dealing with injuries.

The speedy Moore has big-play ability, which he showed off on Friday against the Seahawks with an 88-yard punt return touchdown, although he has struggled to break through with the Chiefs since being drafted in the second round in 2022.

Moore had 43 receptions for 494 yards and one touchdown through the first three seasons of his career.

Last season, Moore had zero catches on three targets while making appearances in six games before a core muscle injury ended his season in October.

The 49ers are looking to return to the postseason after a disappointing 2024 season, during which they finished 6-11, last place in the NFC West.
