The ‘Mayhem Ball’ has finally dropped.

Four long months after releasing her seventh studio album “Mayhem,” Lady Gaga launched her highly-anticipated North American arena tour at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday, July 16.

Over five exquisitely-titled acts and an encore, Ms. Germanotta delivered 27 songs. They ran the gamut from chart-topping radio staples like “Poker Face,” “Paparazzi” and “Just Dance” to her emotive, soul-baring duets “Shallow” and “Die With A Smile” to cuts from “Mayhem,” according to Set List FM.

When all was said and done, she closed the concert with the slinky party-starting singalong “How Bad Do U Want Me.”

“Its ideas were as big as its presentation, and Gaga kept its focus with over-the-top theatrics and an even greater vision,” Variety raved in a review of the Sin City show.

“…but at the heart of her performance was a parade of hits that served as the backbone of the Gaga experience, one that continuously elicited screams and chants from the attendees decked out in Gaga costumes.”

Variety also noted that Gaga had surprisingly switched up the second half of her live show compared to what she’d staged in Singapore this past spring while warming up for the tour.

“There was no ‘Blade of Grass’ or ‘Always Remember Us This Way,’ as she’d sung in Singapore; instead, she folded in ‘Applause’ and ‘Summerboy,’ and swapped “How Bad Do U Want Me” as the evening’s closer. She sang a new rendition of ‘Die With a Smile’ at the lip of the stage on a piano; ‘Shallow’ had a fresh arrangement that offered a different texture to the melodramatic ballad.”

If you’d like to see the shape-shifting, versatile 14-time Grammy winner put on her one-of-a-kind show live, tickets are available for all upcoming North American concerts (including her five at Madison Square Garden this August and September).

Lady Gaga new music

On March 7, Lady Gaga dropped her seventh studio album “Mayhem.”

The energetic, maximalist dance pop record — which many rightly call a return to form — rarely takes a moment to breathe (save for the final two tracks, which veer into singalong ballad territory). Over its 53-minute runtime, Gaga goes hard providing her signature powerful vocals over shimmery synths, thumping percussion and the occasional epic guitar riff. And, yes, it’s an absolute blast that we went gaga over.

Standouts here include the anthemic, electro “Disease,” disco jam “Abracadabra,” creepy, hypnotic bop “Killah,” glittery foot-stomper “Zombieboy” and retro, New Wave-esque “Don’t Call Tonight.”

Still, our top track has to be the lead single, Gaga’s throwback “Die With A Smile” duet with Bruno Mars. Sweeping yet intimate and thrillingly romantic, the heartfelt tune pairs perfectly as an upbeat counterpart to her similarlly swooning “Shallow.” It’s essential and we’d bet will likely become a staple at Gaga tours for the next few decades.

If you’d like to fire up the record right now and find your own favorite song, “Mayhem” can be found here.
