After 106 days in theaters, Disney’s blockbuster sequel “Moana 2” has finally made its way to Disney+.
The follow-up to 2016’s “Moana” takes place three years after the ocean called Moana (Auliʻi Cravalho) journeyed beyond her island’s reef to restore the heart of the goddess Te Fiti.
The new film follows Moana as she reunites with her sidekick, the demigod Maui (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), assembles a wayfinding crew, and once again sets out on a great adventure. Their goal this time around? Find the lost island of Motufetu, break its curse, and reconnect the people of the ocean.
“Moana 2” finished 2024 with $1.02 billion at the worldwide box office, and in the first two months of 2025, grossed an additional $55 million domestically.
Now, after a late-January on-demand release, “Moana 2” is coming home to Disney+.
